We call her Janell, our Wonder-Woman Sales Representative at Tustin Mazda. But to these budding race-car drivers, she’s simply “grandma”. And while you’ll still find her baking, taking them shopping and doing all the things grandmas love to do with granddaughters, Janell Keogh takes fun to another level!
This past weekend Janelle loaded up her CX-5 and got these girls some hot laps at K1 Speed, Irvine. Even the littlest of the granddaughters made the height minimum and it was immediately game on! They were all on the track at the same time and had the race course completely to themselves. The laughing quickly stopped shortly after the green light dropped and the collective competitive spirit was fueled with adrenalin (and maybe a bit of attitude)! Aside from an occasional spin out, and some borderline shady defensive moves, everyone came away safe and unscathed. We will refrain from announcing a winner, as that could ignite a firestorm among these Danica Patrick mini-replicas.
After the track, grandma treated the drivers to lunch for bottomless tortilla soup at Islands, where they had their favorite Tortilla Soup and endless giggles, while reliving some of the sketchy track techniques and race results. This blogger wishes my grandma had a passion for cars like Janell. These girls are in for years of fun! We’re also certain that Grandma/Team Sponsor is still wearing a giant smile from last weekend, as well!
